RAYMOND H. HAWKINS

Brief Biography

 

 

Pastor Hawkins was born and raised in Lafayette , Indiana until the age of 17 upon graduation from High School, at which time he enlisted and served in the US Marine Corps from Fall 1971 to Spring 1979, with an Honorable discharge.

 

Pastor Hawkins received his calling to preach in 1976, and went on to serve as Founding Pastor of Calvary United Pentecostal Church, Dunn, N. C., from Spring 1982 to Fall 1987, at which time he resigned his pastorate, and upon graduation from Campbell University in NC with a Bachelor degree, he entered into Seminary at Louisville, Kentucky in January 1988.

 

Pastor Hawkins was Ordained in November 1988 by the United Pentecostal Church International.  He received his commissioning as a 2nd Lt., Chaplain Candidate, into the US Air Force in the Spring of 1989.  Upon graduation from Seminary with his Master of Divinity degree in 1991, he served as a Reserve Chaplain, 1Lt. at Bergstrom AFB, Texas, in the Fall of 1991 to 1993, and in the Summer of 1993 entered active duty in the USAF Chaplaincy as Captain, and served in several US and overseas assignments, representing the UPCI. 

 

Pastor Hawkins retired from the USAF Chaplaincy in November 2004 and Evangelized for a year, traveling the United States and preaching in several UPC churches, and in November 2005 took the Pastorate position at Pentecostal Lighthouse, Dunedin , Florida .

Pastor Hawkins also serves as a Chaplain with the Hospice of the Florida Suncoast.

 

His interests are preaching, teaching, travel, guitar, reading, woodworking, and growth group ministries.  Pastor Hawkins and his wife Linda have been married 33 years, and their son Matthew and his family presently living in Toledo , Ohio , and daughter Melissa and her family presently living in Orlando , FL ; and three grandchildren Mariah, Micah, and Braylon Hawkins.
